We recently visited the Fleece for my partner’s birthday. He found the pub’s website and decided from the lovely menu that we would pay a visit.
The food was exceptional and the service likewise. No complaints from any of food we ordered and we all commented on how tasty and well presented the food was. It’s a lovely little village and the surrounding views are amazing. In interior of the pub is very warm and friendly and all the staff were very friendly.
Great little addition to the pub next door. We enjoyed a cup of tea and cookie in the sunshine and had a good chat with the friendly passers-
I had the beef bourguignon, which was outstanding, my daughter had heard of the belly pork which wasn’t on the menu due to it being Curry Night -
I just nipped in for a quick snack this evening: pesto, cheese and tomato bruschetta, and a couple of glasses of wine -
Both bruschetta and wine were excellent (quarter bottles of wine are often disappointing, but no so this Argentinean Malbec). The service was both friendly and professional (not always an easy combination) ad everyone around me seemed to be having a good time. Highly recommend.
Never fails to satisfy, surpass and surprise.
I go to The Fleece very month or so, as it’s an excellent pub restaurant and I’ve enjoyed plenty of lunches and dinners there. The ‘fish platter’ lunch, which I and my two friends all chose this week, surpassed anything I’ve every had there before. Well done Chef! The special’s board is always worth checking out, even though the regular menu is great too. Really enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to the next time!
Home from Holme. The Fleece is a fantastic pub. The Landlady and her team have done an amazing job of creating a warm, welcoming pub which, although busy, manages to still feel ‘villagey’. The Sunday Lunches are becoming the stuff of legend in these parts!
We had my daughter’s 21st there, choosing a posh afternoon tea. The pub was very accommodating, allowing us to take over the side room and decorate it for the afternoon.
Well worth a visit! Found this gem of a place whilst having a brief stay at camping and caravanning club site in Crowden. Fantastic, well cooked food -
Top notch Sunday Lunch! I called last Sunday with my husband and mother for Sunday Lunch -
Thoroughly enjoyable -
Traditional Pub, good food! Called here on Sunday for a late afternoon meal, the location is lovely, the staff were friendly and efficient and the food was good.
This is a pub on a tourist route (cyclists), it has a handy little shop tagged on for take away food and bits and bobs, we enjoyed our meals and considered them to be good value, if you want a traditional pub meal at a traditional village pub you will not be disappointed.
Fleece Pasta Party! On the Friday that we arived at The Fleece. Lovely selection of pastas, huge portions, got side orders of beautiful twice cooked chips that were excellent, but unnecessary as the pasta portion was so generous. My wife and father in law had rib-
The beer was great too and there was a glass of wine thrown in with the pasta. Always a great place to eat, drink and have a good time
